Considering the Rapture
Description
It was and the kids were hunting Easter Eggs on our farm even though at this age of 12, hunting Easter Eggs seemed sort of silly to the girls, and a bit annoying to this friend. She decided to ride her bike in the tall grass to avoid walking but found it to be much more work. She finally stopped and closed her eyes, turning her head up to the sky as if an experience of “rapture” awaited her. I snapped the pic because it embodies everything Easter and springtime mean to me. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, we find ourselves lost among the confusion of identity and self and other expectations while balancing our own personal journey. Poor kid had no idea I would see her in this light. If only to feel a mystical union with the spiritual world, in that time of life when everything feels so conditional and intense. But really, its just a kid in bunny ears stopping to rest among the wisteria.
